Psalm 121:1-8 NLT
[1] I look up to the mountains- does my help come from there? [2] My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth! [3] He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber. [4] Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps. [5] The LORD himself watches over you! The LORD stands beside you as your protective shade. [6] The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night. [7] The LORD keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. [8] The LORD keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.
Good Morning!
We’ve all been there – that low place in our lives when we just look up to God and say, “Help!” If that is not you and you haven’t had that occurrence yet in your life, then your day is coming too. It is just a matter of time.
When we are in this lowest of lows place, it is there that God has our full attention. He has always paid attention to us, but we get distracted by the things of life, worries, and cares of earthly things and we temporarily “forget” about God. As Psalm 121 tells us, and I paraphrase, The Lord Himself watches over you and never sleeps or slumbers both now and forever. When our relationship with God feels lacking or distant, it is not because of God, but because of us. When we examine our own hearts, it is there you will find the issue. It has never been that God is lacking, it is our lack of faith and trust in Him. As we mature in our relationship with Him by daily seeking His will, reading His word and praying, He will pour Himself into you and give you the help you need both in this life and the next.
We all have gotten caught up in the things of life. We are human and we have fleshly desires. None of us are exempt from this. We’ve all sinned and fall short of God’s glory, but God’s Grace has redeemed us through Christ Jesus. When we approach God with a repentant heart, He rejoices and sings over us.
Ecclesiastes 7:20 NKJV
[20] For there is not a just man on earth who does good And does not sin.
Romans 3:23-25 NLT
[23] For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. [24] Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. [25] For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past,
Zephaniah 3:17 NKJV
[17] The LORD your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”
This life has many challenges and sometimes when we pray, God does not answer us in the way we would want. That does not mean that He is not listening to our prayers or responding. It means that He knows what is best for our lives and directs us accordingly. Some prayers will not be answered at all in this life, but assuredly in eternity, all of our prayers will be answered. It is difficult to explain when things happen in this world that seem like God has ignored prayers. But we must have faith that His good and perfect will is being done. When there are disasters, shootings, hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, we know that the season is drawing near of Jesus’ return. It is in this season (now) that we need to stand firm on God’s Word be a light in this world of darkness and a reflection of His glory. We don’t need to worry about these trials and tribulations because Jesus has overcome the world and will return one day to bring all of His elect (followers of Christ) home.
Matthew 24:6-8 NKJV
[6] And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. [7] For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. [8] All these are the beginning of sorrows.
John 16:33 NKJV
[33] These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
Matthew 24:30-31 NKJV
[30] Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. [31] And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Our true help is from The Lord. He is strong, mighty and able. If He is for us, than who can be against us?
Romans 8:31 NKJV
[31] What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
I love you and am praying for you today!
