John 3:16 KJV
[16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Good Morning!
You hear the terms: saved, born-again, Christian, Christ-follower, but what do they all mean? John 3:16 makes it clear and simple. It is the most memorized and quoted scriptures of all time because it is a very clear answer for man’s question of God’s salvation — Whosoever believes in Jesus will not perish, but have everlasting life.
Many religions require lots of steps to earn salvation, but there is truly only one step needed, to believe in our Lord, Jesus Christ. It is a free gift of salvation that God gives us. It cannot be earned or bought. It is not something that we deserve, but God gives His grace freely to us so that we may have eternal life.
Romans 6:23 NLT
[23] For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
All of us are born into this world with our sinful nature. None of us are righteous and would be doomed if God had not intervened for us by sending His only Son to die in our place. Isaiah 64:6 tells us that “all of our righteousnesses are like filthy rags.” So even if we try to be righteous, we cannot without the rich Grace of God. He makes us righteous and redeems our souls when we believe and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior.
Ephesians 1:7 NKJV
[7] In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace
As a believer, God remembers our sins no more. He casts them into the depths of the sea and removes our transgressions from us as far as the east is from the west. That is Grace. We don’t deserve it. We can’t earn it. We simply accept it because we have a loving Heavenly Father that wants an eternal relationship with us. We are the crown jewel of all creation and He loves us so much! That is the good news of the Bible. That is what Christianity is all about. So simple, yet men like to complicate things so much.
Hebrews 8:12 NKJV
[12] For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”
Micah 7:19 NKJV
[19] He will again have compassion on us, And will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins Into the depths of the sea.
Psalm 103:12 NKJV
[12] As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.
A simple act of confession and truly believing that Jesus died once and for all for our sins a death that He did not deserve, then, on the third day God raised Him from the dead to give us a life that we do not deserve, is all it takes to have everlasting life.
Whosoever? Are you a whosoever? Have you taken that step to believe? This life is FULL of distractions that can take us down wrong paths, but one thing is for sure, all of us have an expiration date and all of us will have an eternity. We need to choose now, while we still can, where we want to spend our eternity. There is never a promise of tomorrow. We only have the present time to decide what our future will hold.
James 4:13-14 NKJV
[13] Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; [14] whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.
Below is a series of scriptures that are well-known as “The Romans Road.” These scriptures lace together the problem of sin and God’s cure for humanity.
I love you and am praying for you today!
