Hebrews 4:12-13 NIV
[12] For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. [13] Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
Good Morning:
We sometimes can become stale in our faith with an attitude of passiveness. We forget the benefits that we have as children of God. We forget the MANY promises that His word gives us. Let the two verses above just percolate in your mind for just a moment. The word of God is ALIVE and ACTIVE.
We have access to the instructions from the very Creator of all things through His WORD. It has lasted through the test of time with hundreds of prophesies in the Old Testament being fulfilled through Christ in the New Testament.
There has been many attempts to destroy the Bible, but the remnant of God has kept His word true and faithful and available to all of us. Many have died at the hand of kings, emperors and rulers in order to preserve God’s word. We have reaped the benefit of what these martyrs thought so important to carry forward to future generations. Let us never take that for granted!
If then we believe that the testimony of God’s word is true, we should also take heed to verse 13 that “nothing is hidden from God’s sight and all is laid bare before the eyes of Him who we must give account.” None of us can ever achieve perfection, but we should strive to follow in the footsteps of Jesus as we journey through this life. God is faithful and just to forgive us when we mess up. We merely just need to be humble ourselves and ask for His forgiveness.
1 John 1:9 NIV
[9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
We serve a faithful God that watches us and guides us through this life. His Holy Spirit is active at work in us every day. When we thirst for more of God in our lives, we simply need to draw from the wells of salvation and God will surely fills our cups until it overflows with His goodness and mercy.
Psalm 32:8 NIV
[8] I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.
John 7:38-39 NIV
[38] Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” [39] By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.
Isaiah 12:3 NIV
[3] With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.
Psalm 23:5-6 NIV
[5] You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. [6] Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Never forget that God is alive and active in all of our lives. In return, let us also be alive and active for Him and His kingdom.
1 John 4:19 NKJV
[19] We love Him because He first loved us.
I love you and am praying for you today!
