Good Morning!
Many people wonder why bad things happen. The truth is, our human minds cannot understand God’s ways, but we do know that He is Most High over all of the earth. His ways are good and right. We want to reason what is fair and right in our eyes, but we don’t have the Omnipotent view that God has and cannot equate our ideas of reasoning, belief systems and values to that of God’s. Trusting and abiding in God’s truth will help us draw closer to the heart of God and understand His heart and perfect will.
“God created everything, he owns everything, and he sets the true standard of justice. He uses his power according to his own moral perfection. Thus, whatever He chooses or decrees will always be fair, even if we don’t understand it or like it. Those who rebel and reject God are not rejecting a lifestyle option; they are rejecting truth and justice itself.”

Abiding In Truth
Jesus taught us that we just need to just simply believe in Him and His examples and abide in His word. When we do this, we will know the truth and the truth will make us free. In this way we will know His will. We will know the direction He has for our lives. We will know what is right, what is good, what is acceptable as we make ourselves a living sacrifice of praise to our God. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and by committing our hearts to Him, we are abiding in His truth.
John 8:31-32,36 NKJV
[31] Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. [32] And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” [36] Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.
1 John 3:24 NKJV
[24] Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.
Voyaging
When we come to know The Lord Jesus as our Savior, we begin to develop a different view of what the world has to offer. Things that used to seem so grand, really don’t have the same appeal as they once did. We know that this life and everything in it is just temporary. We are pilgrims voyaging to our eternal reward. Our possessions are nice, but they only have temporary value. The treasures in heaven are of much higher value. These treasures are eternal and will never fade away.
When we look at God’s currency and not the currency of the world, we see what God values most — relationships! Jesus told us the two most important relationships — to love the Lord with all of our heart and to love our neighbor as ourselves. There is no greater command than these.
None of us are perfect, but we can strive to follow the instructions of Jesus putting these two most important commands first in our lives. We need to show love first to God and second to everyone in our lives, loving people passionately as God loves us, valuing all people the way God values us, even those that are the most lowly, of different race, religion or culture. God loves all of us equally.
We should value all of the lives of those around us as much as we value our own lives. All of us were created in His image and created equal, and are all called children of God.

[1] Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
Matthew 6:20-21 NKJV
[20] but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. [21] For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Mark 12:29-31 NKJV
[29] Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the LORD our God, the LORD is one. [30] And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. [31] And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
When we live and walk and have our being in God first, the things of this world grow strangely dim. The things that we can carry forward to the new earth are our faith, our relationships and the fruit we bear while on this earth.
