2 Corinthians 3:4-5 NKJV
[4] And we have such trust through Christ toward God. [5] Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God,

Good Morning!

Life is hard and when we enter scary times like today with this world-wide pandemic happening, it is very easy to hit the panic button and try to depend on our own self-sufficiency. As is evident in all of the grocery stores, the shelves are barren in a lot of the major categories, people (and myself included) quickly go into self-preservation mode and hoard up the things they think they are going to need.

Paul tells us that, as believers in Christ, our sufficiency comes from God. It is so easy to revert to natural ways. Our flesh gets the best of all of us. But it is in times like today that we all need to enter into the throne of grace and PRAY! Like the time of Solomon in 2 Chronicles, God is calling all of His people to humble themselves and pray for the healing of their land.

2 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV
[14] if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

J. Barton Payne comments:
This great verse, the best known in all Chronicles, expresses as does no other in Scripture God’s requirement for national blessing, whether in Solomon’s land, in Ezra’s, or in our own. Those who believe must forsake their sins, turn from the life that is centered in self, and yield to God’s word and will. Then, and only then, will heaven send revival.

God Is Our Sufficiency.

His grace is enough for us. His strength is made perfect in our weakness. His kingdom cannot be shaken. This world may seem like it is in turmoil but this is all just temporary. The times we live in today are all just a sign of the times of what is to come — the second coming of Christ. As a Christian, we have peace to know that there is a kingdom after this life that will never be shaken and we will never have to fear or worry again. But for today, we must live day-by-day praying, seeking His will, sharing His love and relying on Him for His daily bread — His sufficiency.

2 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV
[9] And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Hebrews 12:28 NKJV
[28] Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.

Luke 21:9-11 NKJV
[9] But when you hear of wars and commotions, do not be terrified; for these things must come to pass first, but the end will not come immediately.” [10] Then He said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. [11] And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven.

We have a lasting foundation that is reliable and dependable. Our God is for us and not against us. He is our refuge and strength and always ready to help in times of trouble. Be blessed today knowing God truly loves us and wants all of us to live according to His plan!

Proverbs 10:25 NLT
[25] When the storms of life come, the wicked are whirled away, but the godly have a lasting foundation.

Psalm 46:1 NLT
[1] God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.

Isaiah 41:10 NLT
[10] Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

I love you and am praying for you today!
Dad
