Psalm 46:10-11 NIV
[10] He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” [11] The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.
Good Morning!
Today, the world is frantic with everyone in a panic mode about the Coronavirus. It is very easy to panic when we are looking at the things in a natural view. But if we take a step back and “be still” and put our trust and hope in our Lord, we know and have blessed assurance that everything is going to be okay.
It is in these times of the unknown and when the world around you seems like it is unraveling before your eyes, that we need to remember the goodness of our Heavenly Father. He does not wish harm to ever come upon us. He only wants what is good for us and freely fills us with His goodness and water of life.
Jeremiah 29:11 NLT
[11] For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
Psalm 107:8-9 NKJV
[8] Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! [9] For He satisfies the longing soul, And fills the hungry soul with goodness.
Revelation 21:6b NLT
…To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life.
To receive the benefits that God has for us, we need to first be still in His presence and know that He is God. Above all other things, we need to know that God is still on the throne and still sovereign. Circumstances should not dictate our faith. Our faith should be grounded in the promises that He has given us.
Knowing Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior is the beginning of a life-long journey that gives us the faith and confidence to take on any situation in our lives. We can trust in God to get us through any situation, no matter how difficult. Our fail-safe for this life is to know that we have eternity with him no matter what happens on this earth. If we can trust God with the salvation of our very souls, who freely gives us eternity with Him, then we can trust Him today in our earthly circumstances, no matter how difficult.
Hebrews 13:6 NLT
[6] So we can say with confidence, “The LORD is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?”
Isaiah 30:15a NLT
[15] This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: “Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength…
Nothing is too difficult for Him! With our confidence in knowing He has our very souls and lives in His hands, we should also know that nothing is too difficult for Him. As Creator of the ends of the earth, we can trust that He knows our circumstances and His sovereignty is above all else. God can use any bad circumstance for His glory and turn it to good.
Jeremiah 32:17 NKJV
[17] ‘Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.
Genesis 50:20 NIV
[20] You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.
Romans 8:28 NIV
[28] And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
As I reflect on what the current state is, my mind goes to 2 Chronicles 7:14. We all need to be praying for God to heal our land, both our country and around the world. This is a true wake up call for us to get humble before God and pray and seek His face.
2 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV
[14] if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
Let’s also use this time to be generous and do good to those around us in need. This is a time for Christians to truly show the “stuff” we are made of and help those around us.
Galatians 6:9-10 NLT
[9] So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. [10] Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone-especially to those in the family of faith.
I love you and am praying for you today!
