Good Morning!
We all have things that we look forward to — a new job, a new house, going on vacation, etc. But one thing that seems so far off, but really isn’t, is heaven. That is the ultimate of looking forward. But we need to live today for our future in heaven. God tells us to build up our treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy…
Matthew 6:19-21 NKJV
[19] “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; [20] but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. [21] For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
For this reason, we should look at each day as a slice of life that we can make a difference in others and invest into God’s kingdom and our future in eternity. It is good in this world to have favor and be successful, but that can all be meaningless if we don’t invest into the kingdom of heaven. Be of cheerful heart and ask The Lord to show you opportunities to bless others. It is truly better to give than receive.
John 3:27 NKJV
[27] John answered and said, “A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven.
Acts 20:35 NKJV
[35] I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.'”
Be thoughtful and prayerful as God shows you people in your life that you can truly bless and make a difference in. He has people in your life for a reason. Be the difference in their lives so that they too can enjoy the blessings and promises of God. This is laying up your treasures in heaven. This is what being rich is really about — not the riches of the world, but the riches that we store up in God’s kingdom. We can’t take anything from this earth with us when we enter into eternity, but we can certainly pay it forward.
I love you and am praying for you today!
