Colossians 3:10-11 TPT
For you have acquired new creation life which is continually being renewed into the likeness of the One who created you; giving you the full revelation of God. [11] In this new creation life, your nationality makes no difference, or your ethnicity, education, or economic status-they matter nothing. For it is Christ that means everything as he lives in every one of us!
Galatians 5:17-18 TPT
For your self – life craves the things that offend the Holy Spirit and hinder him from living free within you! And the Holy Spirit’s intense cravings hinder your old self – life from dominating you! So then, the two incompatible and conflicting forces within you are your self – life of the flesh and the new creation life of the Spirit.
[18] But when you are brought into the full freedom of the Spirit of grace, you will no longer be living under the domination of the law, but soaring above it!
Good morning,
The same God who created all things, who was there before the beginning of time, who humbled Himself in earthly flesh, and died so that we can spend eternity with Him, lives in every one of us who call ourselves Christians and has transformed us into a NEW CREATION.
Living as a New Creation is so important to understand. We can walk through this journey of life constantly feeling beaten up and battered by the attacks of the devil, or we can STAND on the promises of God and rebuke the devil as a new creation in Christ. We are the very sons and daughters of God with all of the privileges that come with that status — heirs to the throne, inheritors of eternal salvation and glory, the power of the Holy Spirit living within us, the fruits of the Spirit; He is our Provider, our Defender who goes before us, our Strong Tower, our Healer, our Shepherd, the One who gives us peace, our Righteousness, and the list goes on eternally!
What do we do with this understanding?
Jesus told us that we can expect trials and tribulations in this life. Still, with His hope of salvation, we can focus our eyes on eternal things that do not perish. We can walk through the trials of this life knowing that we have won, even in the midst of feeling defeated. The fiery darts the devil throws at us may singe us, but he can never burn us.
John 16:33 AMPC
I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]
When we walk with our eyes on Jesus, the “shiny objects” that the world calls success (new car, new house, successful job, big bank account, etc.) will pale compared to things God has in store for us in eternity.
We can rest in the satisfaction of knowing that God will be just as every one of us will stand before Him one day, and He will reward or punish in eternity as His judgment deems. He is not willing that any would perish, but many will because they refuse to accept the tremendous sacrifice of Jesus Christ. God is patiently waiting as He gazes on our sinful world for many more to come to the altar of Jesus. But time is short as the signs of the times Jesus predicted are more prevalent daily.
2 Peter 3:9 TPT
This means that, contrary to man’s perspective, the Lord is not late with his promise to return, as some measure lateness. But rather, his “delay” simply reveals his loving patience toward you, because he does not want any to perish but all to come to repentance.
Matthew 24:3-8 TPT
Later, when they arrived at the Mount of Olives, his disciples came privately to where he was sitting and said, “Tell us, when will these things happen? And what sign should we expect to signal your coming and the completion of this age?” [4] Jesus answered, “At that time deception will run rampant. So beware that you are not fooled! [5] For many will appear on the scene claiming my authority or saying about themselves, ‘I am the Anointed One,’ and they will lead many astray. [6] “You will hear of wars and revolutions on every side, with more rumors of wars to come. Don’t panic or give in to your fears, for the breaking apart of the world’s systems is destined to happen. But it won’t yet be the end; it will still be unfolding. [7] “Nations will go to war against nations and kingdoms against kingdoms. And there will be terrible earthquakes, horrible epidemics, and famines in place after place. [8] This is how the birth pains of the new age will begin!”
But I struggle with _______!
God knows our hearts. He created us. He knows our frame. He knows we were made from dust, as the Psalm tells us. If we are sincere in our prayer to renew our hearts and minds toward Him daily, He will honor that and help us in our daily walk, directing our paths toward Him.
He loves us. He understands us. He wants us to spend eternity with Him. Don’t get caught up in a “loop” of unhealthy mind chatter that is just an attack from the evil one. Ask God to fill your mind with His Word, promises, and praise songs that glorify Him. Whenever your mind starts to wander toward negativity, stop and pray. Being still with God for even a few moments with Him will do wonders for your mind and soul.
Psalm 103:14 NKJV
For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.
Psalm 46:10-11 TPT
Surrender your anxiety! Be silent and stop your striving and you will see that I am God. I am the God above all the nations, and I will be exalted throughout the whole earth. [11] Here he stands! The Commander! The mighty Lord of Angel Armies is on our side! The God of Jacob fights for us! Pause in his presence
Revelation 21:4-7 NLT
He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” [5] And the One sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.” [6] And he also said, “It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega-the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life. [7] All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I will be their God, and they will be my children.
I love you and am praying for you today!
Dad
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for understanding who I am. In my imperfections, I still love you with all of my heart. In my sin, I know that you are the forgiver. In my anxiety, I know that you are the Prince of Peace. Please teach me daily to walk beside you and follow your Word. Help me understand your precepts as I take time with you each day to study, pray, and remain in your presence. I thank you that this world is not the end. I thank you that I have an eternity to look forward to that will be perfect. In the meantime, I will tarry on and keep my eyes on You. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.
