Psalm 139:23-24 NLT
[23] Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. [24] Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.
Good Morning!
As believers in Christ, it is essential to seek the will of God for our lives continually. In doing so, we ask God to show us anything in our lives that is out of His will and an obstacle for us growing closer to Him.
It is all too easy to get caught up in life and put our faith on the back burner. But God wants us to seek Him first before everything else and not be anxious or worrisome about our future. When we rely on Him daily, thanking Him for His provisions and seeking His will, He blesses us and leads us along the path of everlasting.
Matthew 6:33-34 NKJV
[33] But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. [34] Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Everlasting – think about that for a minute. It is a place of eternally being in the presence of God — a place with no more sin, pain, or tears — our final destination place. Our journey begins now as God leads us day-by-day as we empty ourselves of our will and ask His will to be done in our lives.
One of satan’s most powerful tricks is to distract us with glitz and glamour, those shiny objects and riches of the world that pull us away from the will of God. Proverbs 23 puts it pretty bluntly. We can work hard to get rich and seek the things of this world, and in a moment, it can all fly away like an eagle.
Proverbs 23:4-5 NLT
[4] Don’t wear yourself out trying to get rich. Be wise enough to know when to quit. [5] In the blink of an eye wealth disappears, for it will sprout wings and fly away like an eagle.
God seeks those that have a humble heart. With those, He is able to work miracles, bless future generations, change lives and bring glory to Himself. He lifts up and blesses those that hunger and thirst for His righteousness. These He will not despise.
Psalm 25:9 NKJV
[9] The humble He guides in justice, And the humble He teaches His way.
James 4:10 NKJV
[10] Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
Psalm 138:6 NKJV
[6] Though the LORD is on high, Yet He regards the lowly; But the proud He knows from afar.
Matthew 5:6 NKJV
[6] Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.
Psalm 51:17 NKJV
[17] The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart- These, O God, You will not despise.
This world easily distracts us and tries to put a stranglehold around us continually. But as we take time every day to ask God to search our hearts and show us anything offensive to Him, He will lead us in the way of everlasting.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, please search me today and know my anxious thoughts. Help me live a life of humility that seeks your will and your desires for my life. Help me to be the person of God you want me to be and lead me day-by-day to the path you have for my life and the path to everlasting life. I desire to seek You first in everything and let the cares of this world fade away. In Jesus’ precious name, I pray. Amen!
I love you and am praying for you today!
