Revelation 21:5-6 NKJV
Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” [6] And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts.

Good Morning!

As born-again believers, we have a glimpse of what is to come from Revelations. We know that in eternity, God is going to make ALL things new. This gives us a great hope that this life is not all there is, but we will have an eternity to live in the presence of God as He lives among us (v3). We won’t have any more pain, suffering, sickness, disease, wars, or death. We will only have eternal happiness basking in His glory forever.

Just as God will make all things new in eternity, He begins that work now in us when we become a believer in Christ. Our old selves have passed away, and we become a new creation in Christ. We begin living our eternity the very moment that we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. We spend the rest of our days on this earth working out our salvation and have eternity to look forward to where God has the unimaginable ready for us.

2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV
[17] Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Philippians 2:12-13 NKJV
[12] Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; [13] for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.

So what do we do now?

As the famous lyrics of 38 Special’s song goes, we are to “hold on loosely” the things of this world since we have the eternal hope of all things new. We have the foreknowledge that everything that we work so hard for is really not of any eternal value unless it is building treasures in heaven. God wants us to live with humility and generosity, as Jesus demonstrated for us 2000 years ago. When we put our trust in earthly things, they become an idol that God detests. When we trust first in Him and all of His righteousness, He will supply everything we need for this life and our eternity.

Matthew 6:19-21 NKJV
[19] “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; [20] but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. [21] For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Matthew 6:33 NKJV
[33] But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Philippians 4:19 NKJV
[19] And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

God is very patient and longsuffering with humanity and not willing that anyone should perish. So we, too, need to show patience toward others and be a blessing to those that are in our lives. Then we will see how God uses us to share His glorious message of grace where someday we’ll be able to share together in all things new.

2 Peter 3:9 NKJV
[9] The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

I love you and am praying for you today!
Dad

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank you that I am a new creation in Christ and all things are new as I trust in Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Please help me daily to put my trust and hope in you and not the things of this world. I know that one day I will be basking in your glory when you have made all things new in eternity. Until then, I stand firm in my faith and believe that you will work out everything in my life and supply all of my needs according to your riches and glory. Thank you for letting me be a light in this world to the lost and spread your love whenever I can. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen!
