1 Timothy 2:5,7 NKJV
[5] For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, [7] for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle-I am speaking the truth in Christ and not lying-a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.
Good Morning!
Every day we look at what is happening around the world and cannot help to think of the words of Jesus about the signs of the end of the ages. There are earthquakes, volcanoes erupting, locusts swarming, famine and pestilence with the Coronavirus. It is hard to imagine that just a short time ago that everything seemed normal and now it seems like the world has been turned upside-down.
Luke 21:11 NKJV
[11] And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven.
Security In God
But God has given us security in His promises that this too shall pass. In fact He says that heaven and earth will pass away, but His word shall remain forever. His Word and His promises are the only thing in this world that we can count on. We know that this world will pass away and a new heaven and new earth will be created for us to live with Him in all of eternity.
Matthew 24:35 NKJV
[35] Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.
Revelation 21:1 NKJV
[1] Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.
Isaiah 51:6 NKJV
[6] Lift up your eyes to the heavens, And look on the earth beneath. For the heavens will vanish away like smoke, The earth will grow old like a garment, And those who dwell in it will die in like manner; But My salvation will be forever, And My righteousness will not be abolished.
God’s Plan
God has had a master plan from the beginning of time. He knew that man would sin, starting from Adam and Eve. He knew that we needed a savior to take upon Himself the sins of the world so that we can be free of sin and made righteous in the sight of our Heavenly Father. Jesus is, was and forever will be the mediator between God and man.
Hebrews 9:15 NIV
[15] For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.
Now is the Time
It is in our humanity to put off until tomorrow what we could do today. We all are procrastinators in one sense or another. But we never know what tomorrow will bring. We don’t have the promise of tomorrow. We only have the present. James tells us that our life is as a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. That is so relevant today with the spread of disease running rapid across the entire globe. Salvation is for today. None of us know for sure if there will be a tomorrow. Jesus could return at any moment, like a flash of lightning, and we need to be ready.
James 4:14 NIV
[14] Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.
Matthew 24:27 NKJV
[27] For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
No Other Name
There is one mediator and His name is Jesus. He is the way, the truth and the life and no one shall enter the kingdom of heaven, except through Him. It is today that we all need to be ready and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. It is today that we can no longer procrastinate. Life is fragile and we cannot depend on tomorrow. God is faithful and all it takes is a simple prayer to ask Jesus, the Lord of all creation, into our hearts and lives, to forgive us from our past and live for Him in the future. That is what God desires of us so that we can live with Him in all of eternity. Pray this a simple prayer of salvation.
Acts 4:12 NKJV
[12] Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
John 14:6 NKJV
[6] Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
1 John 1:9 NKJV
[9] If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
I love you and am praying for you today!
