Ephesians 6:24 NKJV
[24] Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.

Good Morning!

What does it mean to be sincere in our walk with Christ?

God loves those with a broken and contrite heart. When we speak of a broken heart in this context, God is wanting a heart of remorse and repentance — one that is longing for His plan to be above all else in their lives. He wants men and women to be after His own heart and to do His will.

Psalm 51:17 NKJV
[17] The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart- These, O God, You will not despise.

1 Samuel 13:14a NKJV
The LORD has sought for Himself a man after His own heart…

Acts 13:22b NKJV
‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.’

 We Are Not Perfect

God does not expect us to be perfect. In fact if you read through the Old Testament about the life of David, he was far from perfect, yet God loved David and made an everlasting covenant with him because he was a man after God’s own heart. God made us and knows we are not perfect. He knows we are “made from dust” and He knows our frame. We are all born into a world of sin, but He is merciful and just to forgive us when we come to him in a repentant and sincere heart.

Psalm 103:14 NKJV
[14] For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.

 Life is Hard

We have seasons in our life that can be very difficult. The current situation of the Coronavirus Covid-19 is very scary for everyone, not only for health reasons, but for economic ones. Our future can seem daunting when things like this loom over all of us. But when we rely on God’s promises and firmly put our feet upon the rock of our salvation, we know that He will bring us through this situation and this too will pass. We don’t know what our future holds, but we know who holds our future! These are light and momentary troubles. Our bones may feel weak and our souls in a drought, but God promises to those who are sincere to Him, that we shall be like a watered garden and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.

Psalm 40:2 NKJV
[2] He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps.

Isaiah 58:11 NKJV
[11] The LORD will guide you continually, And satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.

Growing in Christ

Let us all use this time as we are hunkering down in isolation to spend time in God’s word, reflecting daily on His promises. Let us be of sincere hearts and minds and use the gifts He has given us to bless others in this time of uncertainty. There is one thing for certain, that we all have an eternity waiting for us after this life. Let’s all be ready to meet our maker and hear the words, “well done my good and faithful servant.”

Psalm 49:15 NKJV
[15] But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave, For He shall receive me. Selah

Proverbs 23:18 NKJV
[18] For surely there is a hereafter, And your hope will not be cut off.

Matthew 25:34 NKJV
[34] Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

Matthew 25:23 NKJV
[23] His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’

I love you and am praying for you today!
