[15] For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.
Good Morning!
The shoes of peace are the foundation that our spiritual walk is based on. Without a good foundation, we would easily tumble. In thinking of the ancient Roman soldiers in hand-to-hand combat, if they did not have good shoes that gave them sure footing, they would easily lose their battle. Shoes that are firm-footed, like the Roman soldiers, gives secure footing giving us the ability to battle on with the things that life throws at us. Our foundation must be that which we know is strong and secure and there is no other than Jesus Christ that can be that foundation.
1 Corinthians 3:11 NKJV
For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
Good shoes also are a blessing when they carry the messenger of Good News to others both around the world and around our daily surroundings. It is our Christian duty to carry peace with us. If not us, then who will be the voice of peace? We need to wear our peace on us daily and let others know this peace that surpasses all understanding, the only true peace in this world.

How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news, the good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel reigns!
Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Everyone not only desires, but needs peace in their lives. Unfortunately so many people are looking in all the wrong places (drugs, alcohol, addictions, wealth, power, fame, etc.). There is only one true peace in this world that fills that void in our hearts that we all search for — Jesus. He is the only way for us to have true peace, the peace that flows like a river in our hearts, the peace that will transcend us from being filled with fear, grief, anxiety and doubt to being strong, brave, calm and filled with faith. His peace is not of this world and cannot be found in this world. His peace can only come from a fully surrendered heart to Him.
Put on those shoes of peace. Be ready in battle and be confident that our Lord is with us and guides our feet. He gives us peace to lie down in green pastures and peace that give us confidence in our eternity.
