Psalm 1:1-6 NLT
[1] Oh, the joys of those who do not
follow the advice of the wicked,
or stand around with sinners,
or join in with mockers. [2] But they delight in the law of the LORD,
meditating on it day and night.
[3] They are like trees planted along the riverbank,
bearing fruit each season.
Their leaves never wither,
and they prosper in all they do.
[4] But not the wicked! They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind.
[5] They will be condemned at the time of judgment.
Sinners will have no place among the godly.
[6] For the LORD watches over the path of the godly,
but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.

I love Psalm 1 and read it often. It just reminds me that there is a simple way to live with just simple faith in God. When we delight ourselves in the law of the LORD, we are like a tree planted just next to a stream that gets fed day and night and bears much fruit. All God wants us to do is to delight in the Law of the LORD. He knows we are not perfect and we can never live up to 100% all of His laws.
Psalm 103:14 NKJV
For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.
For this reason, He sent Jesus to stand in the gap for us, so whatever our shortcomings are, Jesus’ sacrifice of Himself for our sins, gives us the peace that we can live under God’s grace. It is amazing grace that we have and the simple matter is, when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, He will feed us with His word daily as we delight ourselves in Him, just like the tree along side the stream. He never tires, He never slumbers, He is always there for us in our time of need. His love surrounds us and lifts us up when we are down. His yoke is easy and his burden is light.
Be blessed today and be like a tree next to a stream, feeding on God’s word.
