Proverbs 19:21 NLT
[21] You can make many plans, but the LORD’s purpose will prevail.
Jeremiah 29:11 NLT
[11] For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
Psalm 18:36 NKJV
[36] You enlarged my path under me, So my feet did not slip.
Good Morning!
God has a specific plan for all of us. As we follow His word and listen for His still small voice in our everyday walk, He directs us so that we are guided down the path that He has for our lives. When we begin to stray a little off of the path, as Psalm 18:36 says, He will be faithful to us and enlarge or widen our path so that we do not slip. God is really serious about directing us, not to be little robots, but to know how to live in such a way that we are joyful, at peace, and loving to others. There are hundreds of scriptures that tell us about God’s direction. There are also many examples that tell what happened when God’s people didn’t follow His direction. We, as followers of Christ, have these examples to pattern our own lives after so that we don’t lead down a path of destruction.
1 Kings 19:12 NKJV
[12] and after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.
Not only does God direct our paths and gives us plans for good and a future of hope, when we drift off His path, He always helps us get back on track to His higher purpose. God is able to use everyone of us (this means you) to fulfill His greater good. He wants us to fellowship with Him daily, as our Heavenly Father, so that we are being spiritually mindful as we go throughout each day. This sets our hearts and minds to be open to those little nudges on our heart or the obvious direction He gives us.
God calls us to be committed to His plans and He will give us, through His Holy Spirit, the direction we need. As we commit our work to The Lord, He will direct our steps. He will show us and guide us. He knows the good path for our lives and we just need to daily commit to following after His own heart and not get caught up in worldly things.
Proverbs 16:3, 8-9 NKJV
[3] Commit your works to the LORD, And your thoughts will be established.
[8] Better is a little with righteousness, Than vast revenues without justice. [9] A man’s heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.
1 Samuel 13:14b NKJV
The LORD has sought for Himself a man after His own heart…
Let us start each day with even just a few minutes to just get our hearts and minds straight for the path before us that day so that we are keenly aware of God’s voice, that our spiritual eyes and ears are open to God’s direction for His plans, path and future for us.
I love you and am praying for you today!
Dad
