Hosea 4:6 NKJV
[6] My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.
Good Morning!
Knowledge is defined as familiarity, awareness or understanding of someone or something, such as facts, information, descriptions, or skills, which is acquired through experience or education by perceiving, discovering or learning.
When we KNOW God, it is not just head knowledge, but heart knowledge. There are many people that claim to know God, but they merely know of God, not really having the convictions of following His word and having a personal relationship with Him. If you think about the Pharisees in the Bible, they claimed to be followers of God and yet Jesus, on several occasions, called them out saying He never knew them. These were the religious leaders, how could this be true? They had the head knowledge of memorized scriptures, rituals and customs, but they did not have a true heart change that transformed their lives as a true believer and follower of God.
When we KNOW God, God in return, KNOWS us. Like the Good Shepherd, He knows His sheep. He hears their cry. He responds and answers to their needs. It is a two-way relationship, but we must make the first step to know God. He in return gives us His full attention with grace, peace and love that only the Heavenly Father can give.
1 Corinthians 8:3 NKJV
[3] But if anyone loves God, this one is known by Him.
John 10:14 NLT
[14] “I am the good shepherd; I know my own sheep, and they know me,
When Hosea prophesied, “My people are dying because of lack of knowledge…”, it was a call to the priests of the day. They were corrupt and leading people to destruction. Today, as representatives of Christ, we are the priests of the earth following the most High Priest — Jesus. We are to share His love so that others are not led to destruction and die because of lack of knowledge. We are to let our lights shine deep into the hearts of others. We have a responsibility to those around us to be a witness for Christ. For some, you may be the only person in their life that can share the gift of eternal life. That is not to be taken lightly!
Hebrews 8:6 NLT
[6] But now Jesus, our High Priest, has been given a ministry that is far superior to the old priesthood, for he is the one who mediates for us a far better covenant with God, based on better promises.
God knows we are not perfect. He knows we are only dust. So with His help, the leading of the Holy Spirit, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. If we dedicate ourselves to His cause, He will give us the words to say at the right time. Sometimes it is right to not even say a word, but to just be an example. God will open up doors and give you opportunities to speak on His behalf and put you in other people’s pathways when His timing is right.
Psalm 103:14 NLT
[14] For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust.
Philippians 4:13 NKJV
[13] I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
1 Peter 4:11 NKJV
[11] If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Think about the people you are in contact with daily — a workmate, a friend, a school mate, a boss, an employee, a teacher, someone you meet in a grocery store checkout line, whoever it is, God may have an assignment for you to touch their hearts and lives for His glory. Be ready and equipped with God’s word as you never know when God may open the door for you.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 NKJV
[16] All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, [17] that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
I love you and am praying for you today!
